Basmati Rice

1 cup rice
1 1/2 cup water
3 cardamon pods
2 star anise
salt and pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Rinse rice in cold water.
  2. Add rice, cardamom, star anise, salt pepper, and water to the pot.
  3. Bring up to boil as quickly as possible and turn it down.
  4. Put on a tightly fitting lid.  Simmer for 8-10 min.  DO NOT REMOVE LID
  5. Remove star anise and cardamom pods, fluff with fork.
